Havre Ford conducts peanut butter drive

Havre Ford is hoping the community will help it fill its pickup truck.

The company is working with the Havre Food Bank to collect jars of peanut butter. They hope to fill a pickup by June 26 to forward the food to the food bank.

They are asking people to stop by to donate a jar or more of peanut butter.

Food bank director Lorna Bjerga said she hopes the drive is successful.

“We try to include peanut butter in every basket we send out,” she said.

There are several reasons why peanut butter is so important, she said

Kids love it, and parents don’t need to encourage them to eat it.

It is full of protein, something young people need.

And it’s easy to fix.

“Kids can easily make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich,” she said.
