Kicks @ 6 to kick off summer season tonight

Kicks @ 6, which is becoming a Havre tradition, opens the summer season at 6 p.m. today at Pepin Park.

The summer will be filled with exciting music and fun times in the park promises Kirt Miller, who has been involved since day one.

Sax Cadillac and the Other Brothers & Sistas band perform at the event weekly, Miller said.

Kids are given flags and parade around the park.

The bands always enjoy performing in the park, he said. It is the perfect setting for the concerts.

Donations are welcome, he said, and all money raised goes to children with special needs.

"It's a cause near and dear to my heart," Miller said.

Tonight will be special, Miller promises.

It's a patriotic-themed program. Kids carry flags as they march around Pepin Park.

Miller said the concerts are like old-fashioned community concerts.

People can pack a picnic dinner and eat it while listening to the music, he said. Food will be available at the park as well, he added.

The concert started as Tunes at Noon at the park, he said. It then became Kicks @ 6 at Town Square. Now it's back at the park, he said.

Here is the schedule for this summer's Kicks @ 6 activities:
