Obituary - Esther Norma (Warnes) Meldrum

Esther Norma (Warnes) Meldrum, 98, passed of natural causes at the Northern Montana Care Center in Havre on April 17, 2015.

A Memorial Service will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church on Friday, June 19, at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow in the church Fellowship Hall.

She was born Oct. 16, 1916, to Einar and Nora (Erickson) Warnes in Osnabrock, North Dakota. As a toddler she moved to Chester. where she attended school. She married her sweetheart, Frank Meldrum, and moved to the family farm north of Joplin.

Esther was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church and was very involved in the woman’s group, Bible studies and quilting.

Esther is survived by two sons, Gene (Pat) Meldrum of Havre and Kent (Mary) Meldrum of Forestville, California, and one daughter, Marlene (Don) Rocks of Chester; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her in-laws, Connie McDonald, Illamae Lund, Carol Warnes, Bob and Eleanor Wigen and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Lon. Her deceased siblings are her sister, Ellen Violett, Ella (Warnes) Wigen and brothers, Ervine, Edward, Robert, Chris, Franklin D. and Richard Warnes.

Memorials made can be made to the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are by Rockman Funeral Chapel.
