Obituary - Edna E. (Wood) Colbry Duncan

Edna E. (Wood) Colbry Duncan, 93, died of natural causes at her home in Lakeside on July 25. Her loving family was at her bedside.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 31, at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Joplin with a luncheon to follow. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Highland Cemetery in Havre.

Arrangements are by Rockman Funeral Chapel in Chester.

Edna was born at Alma, Montana, on Sept. 28, 1921, one of nine children to Jacob and Bertha (Wilson) Wood.  She married a Chester area farmer, George Colbry, in 1939. They raised a family of five.

The Colbrys retired in 1968 and moved to Table Bay Resort at Rollins, Montana. They wintered in Mesa and enjoyed RVing. George died in 1988.  

Edna married Robert Duncan in 1998. They lived in Lakeside/Mesa and spent seven years together until Robert's death in 2005.  

Edna's hobbies included embroidery, boating, fishing, reading, dancing, bowling, snowmobiling, cards, table games and cooking. She was the proverbial  hostess  when it came to entertaining family and friends.

    She is survived by three daughters, April (Ken) Rygh of Mesa, Mable (Roger) Lincoln of Gildford and Fern Lincoln Larson of Mount Vernon, Washington; two sons, Earl (Shirley) Colbry of Chester and Roger (Su) Colbry of Boise, Idaho; ex-daughter-in-law, Lynda Colbry of Portland, Oregon; brother, Harold "Nick" Wood of Polson; 17 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; five brothers, Carl, Tommy, Charles, Forrest and Lewis Wood; and two sisters, Hazel Gacioch and Nan Ora Eldridge.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Immanuel Lutheran Church north of Chester, Home Options Hospice in Kalispell, Lakeside Quick Response Unit in Lakeside or donor's choice.
