Powell-Bailey marriage

Tammy LouAnn Powell and Jeremy Scott Bailey were united in marriage Aug. 23, 2014, during a 3 p.m. ceremony at the Alliance Church in Havre. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Pastor Tim Zerger.

The bride is the daughter of John and Paula Powell of Chinook. John and Paula pastor New Beginnings Fellowship Church of the Nazarene in Havre. The bride is the granddaughter of Ernest and Loretta Vanselus of Shell Lake, Wisconsin, and the late Paul Stone of Shell Lake, Wisconsin.

The groom is the son of Lori Bailey and the late Mark Bailey, of Mound, Minnesota. He is the grandson of Letha Nixon of Lubbock and the late Lewis Nixon and the late Ed and Marjorie Cook.

The guests were seated by Daniel Sherwood, friend of the bride from Basin, Montana. while piano music was played by Brooke Donavan.

The groom and groomsmen followed Pastor Tim as they entered to Brooke's musical accompaniment.

The bridesmaids, flower girls and ring bearer walked down the aisle to the song Canon in D.

The song "Butterfly Kisses" by Bob Carlisle was played on CD while the father of the bride had a few last words with his "baby girl." The bride then made her grand entrance to "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring," played by Brooke Donavan, and was escorted by her father.

The bride carried a bouquet with a mixture of purple calla lilies and purple and blue hydrangea.

All floral arrangements were created by Angie's Wildflowers florists in Havre.

Bethany Powell Weigand, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor, while Mellisa Haymaker, friend of the bride, served as bridesmaid. Flower girls were Sierra Weigand and Cheyenne Weigand, both nieces of the bride.

Lee Friede of Chinook, friend of the bride, served the groom as best man, while Josh Powell, brother of the bride, served as groomsman.

The ring bearer was Reese Haymaker of Havre, son of the bride's friend, Mellisa.

The couple exchanged traditional vows and participated in a meaningful ring ceremony as well as a covenant of marriage addressed to the couple. There was a memorable time of lighting a unity candle, signifying that the bride and groom were uniting their lives together, in Christ. During the candle-lighting, the song "I Promise" by Carman was played from CD).

The processional of the newly married couple, "Arrival of the Queen of Sheba," was played by pianist Brooke Donavan.

Following the wedding service, a reception was held at Van Orsdel United Methodist church, also in Havre, which was professionally catered by Big Willie's BBQ of Havre.

The artfully designed cake was created by Angela Pratt of Angie's Wildflowers. It was cut and served by the bride's friends and co-workers Shawna, and Linda, from the food court at Montana State University-Northern, where the bride worked for two years, following her graduation from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, IIdaho.

After the food and cake were enjoyed by all, the bride and groom opened their gifts with family and friends who were present.

Even though the day was rainy, it was beautifully celebrated in love.

The couple makes their home in Mound, Minnesota, where the groom is originally from.
