Obituary - Ronald E. Wilson

LEWISVILLE, Texas - Ronald Wilson, 78, passed away on Aug. 9, 2015, at a hospital in North Dallas.

A private family memorial gathering will take place this week in Lewisville, Texas.

Ronald was born the first child of Helen and Gerald Wilson of Harlem on Oct. 29, 1936. Except for two years in Tacoma, Washington, during World War II, and a couple years in Turner, Montana, during high school, he lived in Harlem with his family and graduated from Harlem High School in 1953.

After graduation from high school he worked for Buttrey's Foods in Harlem. After his employment there, he attended Northern Montana College, starting in 1954. Wilson was later employed by the Sherman Williams Company in Havre, Montana, and later transferred to Billings, Montana, Chicago and Dallas. Ronald lived in North Dallas with his wife and two children until his retirement.

Following his retirement from Sherwin Williams, he began a second career in the antique furniture business, owning and maintaining a store in North Dallas. He became an expert in his knowledge of vintage, style and wood grains of the antique furniture he loved.

Ronald was a true scholar, starting high school at age 12 and graduating early. He had a lifelong love of reading, sharing much of his wisdom and knowledge with family and friends. He had a love of sports; hunting, basketball, football and golf. He was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Gerald Wilson, as well as his ex-wife, Karen. He is survived by his brother, Rick Wilson of Seattle, his sister, Ardys Murphy of Billings, Montana, two daughters, Robbie Wilson and Kristen Lester of the North Dallas area, and grandchildren Stephanie and Josh Lester of Lewisville, Texas. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends who loved him very much.
