Hill County Commumity Foundation calls for grant applications

Press release

The Hill County Community Foundation is seeking applications for the 2015 grant cycle. All Hill County-area nonprofits are encouraged to apply for the grants, which range in value from $250 to $1,000.

The HCCF Endowment awards grants in the following three areas:

• Arts and culture

• Basic human needs

• Community beautification

There are at least two grants to be awarded before the end of the year. The deadline for applications is Oct. 30.

Past grant recipients include Vince Woodwick through the Friends of the Library Association for his Library Art Display, or LAD, project and the Havre Eagles Manor for their “Silver Sneakers” program.

“The HCCF grant was a huge boost to our project,” Woodwick said. “The girls used all of the supplies purchased with the grant. The girls have had loads of fun creating some amazing work and bonding, too.”

The Hill County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the Montana Community Foundation. The mission of the Montana foundation is to cultivate a culture of giving to empower Montana communities to flourish.

Through the power of permanently endowed funds, the Hill County Community Foundation helps donors achieve their lasting philanthropic goals and provides Hill County nonprofits with sustainable income.

“Montana currently has tremendous wealth leaving our beautiful state,” said Pam Veis, Hill County foundation advisory committee chair. “Community foundations are a relatively new concept to Montana and can help pave the way to ensuring that at least some of that wealth stays in our local communities. The size of our Hill County Community Foundation grants will grow as our permanent endowment grows. (The foundation) has great potential to be a stable resource for positive change as our community evolves in this ever-changing world.”

Some of the recent available grant funds have not been awarded due to a lack of applicants, so area nonprofits are encouraged to apply for these funds.

Nonprofits are encouraged to contact Pam Veis for more information at PO Box 16, Havre, MT 59501, by telephone at 390-4947 or by email at [email protected].
