Fire restrictions rescinded in Blaine County

Stage 1 fire restrictions have been rescinded on all private, state and Bureau of Land Management lands within Blaine County.

Fire restrictions remain in effect at Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation.

Last week, restrictions were lifted for Hill County and the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation area of Blaine County.

BLM officials said recent moisture and cooler temperatures have slowed the fire season.

But they warned that dangers still remain from this summer’s hot, dry conditions.

The Lewistown Area Restrictions Group reminds the public that even the smallest spark has the potential to cause significant damage and asks that everyone do their part to prevent wildfires: one less spark, one less wildfire.

Burn permits are still required in all counties for any debris or agricultural burning and may have additional limits. People should check with local sheriff’s offices or fire departments for information on burn permits.
