Obituary - Eula May Bennett Warburton

Eula May Bennett Warburton, 92,of Chinook, passed away Sept.. 22, 2015 at Sweet Memorial Nursing Home with her family by her side.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015, at 2 p.m, at Edwards Funeral Home in Chinook. Burial will be held on Monday, Sept. 28, 2015, at 11 a.m., at the Kuper Memorial Cemetery in Chinook. Arrangements have been made with Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook. Eula was born on March 18, 1923, the youngest of seven children of Tracy and Bertha May Bennett in Forksville, Pennsylvania. Eula graduated from Estella Vocational High School in Pennsylvania in 1941 and was second in her class of 15. Eula met Lester Warburton and they were married on March 10, 1945.

Eula then went to business school in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and was first employed by the First National Bank of Williamsport in the bookkeeping department, later working for Standard Oil as the secretary to the district manager. She worked there until her husband, Lester, was discharged from the U.S. Navy Submarine Service. She then came to live on the farm south of Chinook in the spring of 1946 until her death.

Eula was an assistant Girl Scout leader during her daughter's young years. She was instrumental in getting WIFE (Women Involved in Farm Economics) started in Blaine County. Eula enjoyed crafts, sewing, ceramics, wheat weaving and flower arranging. Eula was an avid reader, and she was an active partner with her husband and son on the farm.

Eula is survived by her daughter, Tracey Warburton of Havre, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Eula was preceded in death by her husband, Lester and her son, Larry, her parents and siblings.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wildlife Museum or PAWS in Chinook.
