Genny was born July 4, 1929, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Havre, Montana, to Henry and Helen (Beilke) Pagel. She attended schools in Havre, and graduated from Havre High School in 1948.

Genny married the love of her life, Waldon Haugen, Oct. 10, 1948, and together they had three girls - Judy, Darlene and Marlene.

With Waldon and her daughters, Genny enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and square dancing. When her daughters were young she taught Sunday school and vacation bible school at St. Pauls Lutheran Church.

After Waldon's passing in 1982, she met her special friend Norman Andrew. Together they enjoyed traveling to California, Michigan, New York, and around the state.

Genny worked at FA Buttrey's for almost 10 years and Boku Gifts for several years. She recently enjoyed watching the game shows on TV, and she especially loved answering the questions for the contestants on "Jeopardy." One of her favorite things to do was to bake cookies for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren (her sons-in-law enjoyed them, too). Throughout her adult life she enjoyed collecting Native American dolls and crafts.

Genny is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Helen Pagel; her husband, Waldon Haugen; and her special friend, Norman Andrew.

She is survived by her children, Judy (David) Molitor of Havre, Darlene (Jim) Fossum of Opheim, and Marlene (Ray) McMillan of Butte; her sister, Fern Harding of Illinois; her niece, Sandy Bennett of Havre; her grandchildren, Jon (Carrie) Molitor and Angela (Mark) Simpson of Havre, Justin (Julie) Fossum of Oregon, Stephanie Fossum of Billings, and Rachel McMillan and Brent (Trina) McMillian, all of Butte; her great-grandchildren, Noah, Nick, Landon, and Lynsie Molitor, Wyatt and Morgan Simpson, and Kaitrin, Ellyana, Connor, and Paige McMillan.
