Local runners shine in Great Falls

The Havre Blue Ponies weren't the only local runners racing in last Saturday's Montana State Cross Country Championships.

The Harlem Wildcats and Rocky Boy Stars and Morning Stars also took part in the Class B races Saturday at Eagle Falls Golf Course in Great Falls.

The Harlem boys had a solid, 15th-place showing with a score of 450. Keahna Little paced the Wildcats with a 17th-place finish with a time of 16:58.54. Little just missed out on Class B All-State honors. Erin Snow finished 69th, Caleb Grant placed 92nd, Terry Sandcrane finished 104th and Sam Main placed 168th for the Wildcats.

Rocky Boy came in 22nd place as a team, while Bowen Standing Rock was the Stars' highest finisher with a time of 18:05.12 for 54th place. Chase Corcoran was 130th, Jarrell Gopher was 146th, Kordell Small was 157th and Kade Galbavy was 172nd.

On the girls side, Harlem placed 22nd overall with a score of 632 and Rocky Boy was 24th at 674.

Harlem was led by Val Talksdifferent, who placed 52nd with a time of 21:59.10. Kailee Horn came in 117th, Denise Stanley finished 127th, Miya Main was 162nd and Jaada Main was 165th.

Sean Henry was Rocky Boy's top finisher. She came in 98th overall with a time of 23:39.76. Maya Reed finished in 114th place, Aislyn Baker was 145th, Jurnee LaForge was 157th and Jamilla Small placed 160th.
