Obituary - Margaret M. Boehlke

Margaret M. Boehlke, 82, passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, at the Northern Montana Care Center.

Cremation has taken place, and memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church with Deacon Timothy Maroney officiating. Burial will occur at a later date in the Hingham Cemetery.

Margaret's family has requested that memorials be made to the Havre Senior Center or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.

Margaret was born Feb. 9, 1933, in Carlyle, Montana, to George and Sophia (Bobiney) Rising. She was raised in Golva, North Dakota, where she graduated from high school. Following graduation, Margaret obtained her teaching certificate and taught for a couple of years, before marrying Bernard Boehlke in Golva. The couple's union was blessed with two daughters. Margaret and Bernard eventually settled in Baker, Montana, where their girls graduated from high school.

Margaret taught for more than 25 years, first in several one-room school houses, then in Baker Public Schools. After retirement, the couple moved to Wibaux, then to Nashua, and settled in Havre in 2007 to be near their daughters.

Margaret enjoyed staying busy, playing bingo, gardening, dancing, teaching, quilting and fishing with Bernard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Boehlke; her parents, George and Sophia Rising; her brothers, Albert and Edwin Rising; her sisters, Eva Powers, Gertrude Piesik and Stella DeLeon.

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Ronald) Spicher and Rita (Pete) Verploegen, all of Havre; her grandchildren, Danielle (Daniel) Stark, Cassie (Eddie) Spicher-Hobart, Katie (David) Sattoriba, Darren Verploegen and Jason Verploegen; her five great-grandchildren; her brother, Ralph (Linda) Rising of Wibaux Montana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
