Local Bowling Report: Local bowlers do well at famed Calgary tourney

On the weekend of Nov. 7-8, three keglers traveled across the border to Calgary. They were Jacob Anderson, Ryan Mapes and Shawn Mariani. Report was Ryan and Shawn qualilfied Saturday with Ryan 12th and Shawn 20th, while Jacob missed the cut. In match play Sunday Ryan finished 32nd and Shawn 13th in the overall standings. That tournament is one of the premier tournaments in Canada and attracts bowlers from all over Canada and the Northwest. There was a total of 12 bowlers from Montana making the trip to Calgary and 10 qualified for match play.

There is only one week left to sign up for the Hi Line Challenge. Several spots are still available. Call the lanes.

The final prize list for the State Senior Tournament is posted at the lanes. Several bowlers in our area did will in the tournament. Ozzie Snow of Hayes placed second in his division. In the Open B, Glen Huestis of Chinook placed first, Open E Division, Robert Azure, Chinook placed first; Rod Brown, Havre placed third. On the other side in the Women’s Super Senior Class Doris Howard, Havre third place; Women D Susan Hunter, first, Helena (family of Havre); second, Julie Rodgers; third, Pam Ehlert both of Havre; Women E, first Linda Azure of Chinook.
