A white pickup that was struck by an Amtrak train Monday afternoon sits in a field near the tracks in Kremlin.
An eastbound Amtrak train collided with a pickup truck near Kremlin Monday afternoon, killing one person and injuring two.
The Empire Builder struck the white pickup truck at about 12:50 p.m., Amtrak officials said.
The train stopped after the accident, but Amtrak officials released it about two hours later and it continued on its journey. .
The names of the people in the truck were not released.
The accident took place on a dirt road west of Kremlin that heads north from U. S. Highway 2.
The two injured people were taken to Northern Montana Hospital.
