Obituary - Marcus D. Nordgulen

Marcus D. Nordgulen, 61, passed away of natural causes on Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, at his residence.

Cremation has taken place, and memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, at Fifth Avenue Christian Church. Burial will be at a later date in Highland Cemetery.

Marc's family has requested that memorials be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project, the Semper Fi Fund or to the charity of the donor's choice.  

Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.

Marc was born on March 31, 1954, in Havre to Curtis and Jean (Weyh) Nordgulen. His family soon relocated to Salem, Oregon, until 1970, when they moved to Columbus, Montana, where Marc graduated from Columbus High School in 1972.  

He and the family moved to Havre in the mid '70s, where he and his father operated Nordgulen Plumbing and Heating and he worked as a master plumber.  

His father retired in 1987, and Marc began working for the U.S. Postal Service as a carrier and helping out friends with their plumbing in the evenings. In 1995, he married his beloved wife, Rhonda J. Albertson, and the couple was blessed with a son. Rhonda passed away in 2004, and Marc retired in March 2015 due to health issues.

He loved Harley Davidsons and attended the motorcycle rally at Sturgis, South Dakota, several times. Marc also enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt and Jeff Gordon. He was an avid Broncos fan.

Marc was preceded in life by his beloved wife, Rhonda Nordgulen; his parents, Curtis and Jean Nordgulen; and his sister, Marcia Reisli.

He is survived by his son, Keiffer Nordgulen of Havre; his stepdaughters, Jennifer Burket of Billings and Claudette (Kenneth) Ross of Bay City, Georgia; his five grandchildren; his sister, Mari (Jake) Van Slyke of Havre; numerous relatives-in-law with whom he remained close; and numerous beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
