Our View: Hi-Line darts and laurels

Laurel: Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks and Havre Public Schools have launched a great program “Hooked On Fishing — Not On Drugs.” Kids from Lincoln-McKinley Primary School were taken ice fishing Tuesday, offering them an introduction to a wholesome sport many may not have had the opportunity to partake in. It opened the door to an important part of Montana culture and, hopefully, it offered them an alternative to drugs.

Dart: There is a healthy dose of arrogance going around these days, but Tim Blixseth, the one-time billionaire who drove the posh Yellowstone Club into bankruptcy, is still in jail because he is refusing to tell federal officials where he has hidden the money he took from the club. Jail is a good place for him.

Laurel: Friends and neighbors of Big Sandy ranchers Russell and Darci Darlington rallied behind the couple when they faced misfortune late last year. It was a heart-warming story on Hi-Line friends helping each other out in time of need.

Dart: A group of armed dissidents continue their takeover of a wildlife refuge near Burns, Oregon, against the wishes of neighbors and everyone who believers in civil discourse to handle disputes. The dissidents are upset with the way the government is handling many matters. They think the best way to solve their problems is to take over a federal refuge by force.
