Obituary - Esther L. Peterson

Esther L. Peterson, 88, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, due to natural causes at her residence.  

Cremation has taken place, and a private family memorial service will be held.  Esther's family has requested that memorial donations be made in her name to the Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Line, PO Box 68, Havre, MT 59501, to the North Central Senior Citizen's Center, 302 4th Ave, Havre, MT 59501, or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Esther was born on Dec. 2, 1927, in Washington Township, Missouri, to Charles and Francis (Pherrill) Meeder. She was raised there, where she attended school. In 1956, she met and married Glenn Peterson, and the couple made their home in Gildford, where they raised their three children.

For many years, Esther worked as a depot agent for the Great Northern Railroad, Burlington Northern Railroad and then Amtrak.

After Glenn's death in 2002, Esther moved to Eagles Manor in Havre, where she remained until this past December, when she moved to Timber Creek Village.

Esther enjoyed bingo, crafts, and going to rummage sales.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Peterson; her parents, Charles and Francis Meeder; and nine brothers and sisters.

Esther is survived by her sons, John Peterson of Kremlin and Kraig Peterson of Havre; her daughter, Judi (Jim) Kase of Polson; her two grandchildren; her three great-grandchildren; one brother; one sister; and numerous nieces and nephews.
