Despite an uncharacteristically short meeting, Monday’s Hill County Park Board members talked among other things, about ways to control a new spreading weed and the hard work put in by a particular volunteer.
The new weed in Beaver Creek Park is houndstongue. Although the park staff members had managed to get the burdock weed under control, houndstoungue has been growing to a concerning point, said Park Superintendent Chad Edgar, who spent a few minutes discussing ways to tackle the problem.
