Current Needs

Neighbor in Need — An elderly woman, living on a very low fixed income, is in need of a gently used, clean queen size sleep system with mattress and box spring. She is rather tall and her feet stick off the end of full-size beds. If you can help please call us at 406-750-2542. The identification number is: Havre #180. Thank you very much.

Recently Fulfilled Needs

“Dear My Neighbor in Need,

I am a single mother of a disabled child, and we survive on a very low income. We have been blessed to find a safe place of our own, but we do not have a bed and are sleeping on the floor. We are in great need of a queen size bed. Thank you.”

My Neighbor in Need response:

“She came into the HRDC office and completed the application. The application was faxed to My Neighbor in Need’s corporate offices in Great Falls for processing. After verifying her situation, her need was approved and placed on http://www.myneighborinned.org as well as featured in the Havre Daily News. In less than a week a caring donor contacted us and offered to fulfill this need request. A super-duper You Rock award goes out to this generous donor.”

“Dear My Neighbor in Need,

We are a hard-working couple who are starting fresh. We have found a secure place of our own but we have very little and are in need of a kitchen table and chairs so we can eat at the table rather on our bed. Any help would be a wonderful blessing. Thank you so much!”

My Neighbor in Need response:

“The couple contacted My Neighbor in Need through the office of (the Havre) HRDC. They completed the application and faxed it along with some additional required documentation, including their lease. During our conversation with them, they spoke about their employment. They both work but it is only part-time and for low income. They are hoping to get more hours in the spring but for now they are getting by, however there is no way that they could even afford a used table and chairs. Their need was approved and a kind donor saw their request in the newspaper and offered to provide a table and chairs. Our friends at Valley Furniture offered to deliver it for free! Thank you goes out to the donor and Valley Furniture.”

In addition to the donors and businesses listed above, we would like to honor the generosity of Robert Rathbun who recently passed away and asked that memorials be made to My Neighbor in Need-Havre for the purpose of purchasing beds for those in need. Thanks to this selfless act we were able to buy a brand new bed for a neighbor in need in Havre. Thank you very much.
