MSU-N's Edmondson honored

Montana State University-Northern senior Warren Edmondson sure went out of the Armory Gymnasium with a bang. And he was rewarded for his efforts.

Edmondson was named the Frontier Conference Men’s Player of the Week after averaging 24 points, three rebounds and three assists per game in Northern’s home sweep of Lewis-Clark State and Rocky Mountain College last weekend.

In the wins, Edmondson was 16-of-29 from the field (55 percent), 7-of-16 3-point field goals (44 percent) and 9-of-9 from the free-throw-line. He poured in a game-high 29 points and seven triples in Northern’s victory over Montana Tech on Saturday night, which was also his senior night.

Montana Tech’s Martha Dembek was named Frontier Women’s Player of the Week for the second week in a row.

Tech split their final two regular season games. On the road they lost to No.23 University of Great Falls 55-63 and upset No. 16 MSU-Northern 80-67. Dembek averaged 19.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and one steal per game. She was 13-of-23 from the field (57 percent), 3-of-10 in 3-point field goals and 10-of-15 from the free-throw-line. Her 31 points against Northern was a career high. Northern’s Sierra Richards was also nominated.
