Havreite Jerilyn Wood to study in Baja with Miami U

Press release

Havre resident Jerilyn Wood, a master’s student in the Global Field Program from Miami University’s Project Dragonfly, will travel to Baja this month.

Wood will study desert and marine landscapes through ecological and social field methods.

Wood is a science teacher at Chinook High School.

More information about Wood’s 2016 course can be found at http://www.earthexpeditions.org. Click Baja.

Since the program began 12 years ago, Project Dragonfly’s Earth Expeditions graduate courses — on which the master’s programs are based — have engaged more than 1,700 people in firsthand educational and scientific research at critical conservation field sites in Africa, Australia, Asia and the Americas. Dragonfly is located in the department of biology at Miami University, a state university in Oxford, Ohio. Miami was established in 1809 and is listed as one of the eight original Public Ivies.
