Sheriff's Office urges caution while camping

The Hill County Sheriff's Office is urging the public to be careful when camping.

People are advised not to leave camp sites unattended, not to leave valuable items outside, and to be sure and lock camper and vehicle doors when away or asleep for the night.

An incident was reported early Thursday morning in which two intruders broke into a camper near Railroad Pager's campground in Beaver Creek Park. There was a struggle and one of the intruders pointed a gun at those in the camper. The intruders were described as two white males. No further details were given.
