A pickup is engulfed in flames Friday at Beaver Creek Reservoir. The vehicle, owned by Curtis and Sharon Simonson, was totally destroyed by the flames near the reservoir while they were en route to Havre to buy groceries while camping in Beaver Creek Park.
A pickup truck was engulfed in flames Friday afternoon at Beaver Creek Park, and passengers Curtis and Sharon Simonson evacuated the vehicle just minutes before it was completely aflame.
Sharon Simonson said they had pulled off onto the road to Beaver Creek Reservoir, the first lake south of Havre on Beaver Creek Park, on a whim. They had been camping in the park and were driving to town for groceries when they pulled off at the reservoir, and after the flames started they got away from the truck just minutes before it completely caught on fire.
She said she began to smell smoke before a fire...
