Local author sets Havre book signings

By Havre Daily News staff

A lifelong Blaine County resident has published a children’s book and will be in Havre Oct. 1 for a book signing.

Betty Billmayer adapted a skit she wrote for production at her church into the book, “The Princess and the Pea … nut Butter Sandwich,” using alliteration and colorful illustrations in creating the work.

The book tells the story of Princess Pietra, who believes she can find perfect peace by eating a perfect peanut butter sandwich. People come from far and wide with sandwiches, but little Pietra only pouts.

As her parents seek God’s help in how to proceed, they all realize that perfect peace comes only through Jesus.

Billmayer will be in Havre, Saturday, Oct. 1, from 11a.m. to 4 p.m. at the New Wine Christian Bookstore for a book signing.

Billmayer and her husband, Mark, work in the farming, ranching and cattle business in Blaine County.

She and her youngest daughter published a children’s alphabet and photography book titled “Apples to Zebras” in 2015. Billmayer also has written several skits used in productions in her church in addition to the skit on which her new book is based.
