Plain Green provides school supplies to Rocky Boy students

Press release

Plain Green Community Development Officer Jessica McGratty visited community youth Friday at Rocky Boy schools to provide school supplies and backpacks to students ranging in age from kindergarten through high school.

“Our children are the future of our community and our traditions,” said Chelsey St. Pierre, Human Resources manager and Community Development officer for Plain Green. “We want to make sure that they have the resources they need to focus on learning and acquiring the skills they need to be successful in life. Every student in our community should have access to the necessary educational tools, and at Plain Green we are proud to be working to make that a reality.”

Plain Green is also committed to providing other educational resources to students, including eye exams to ensure students are being helped if impaired vision is a challenge they are faced with.

“Making sure that students are able to easily take in what is going on in the classroom is critical to providing a learning environment where students are set up to succeed,” said St. Pierre. “We have a vested interest in these students — the whole community does. And by investing in their future now, we are also investing in the future of our tribe and our culture.”
