Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Kadia Miller, Havre Cross Country

Running at the state cross country meet is nerve-racking, but it didn't seem to bother Havre High freshman Kadia Miller. Miller, in her first state meet, last Saturday in Kalispell, ran a 19:59.5 to finish in 19th place overall. Miller has been Havre's top runner all season long, and her finish in her first state meet, sets her up for a very bright future in Class A cross country. Her run also helped the Blue Ponies to a 12th-place finish.

Isaiah Runs Above, HLP Cross Country

Hays-Lodge Pole's Isaiah Runs Above saved one of his best runs for his last. In the 2016 Class C state cross country meet, held last Saturday in Kalispell, Runs Above finished an outstanding second in the boys race. He ran a personal best time of 16:29.0, finishing only behind state champion Evan Duggan of Darby. Runs Above's time also helped the T-Birds finish tied for fourth as a team, their best finish ever at the state meet.
