Vote for Hess on her record

It’s about time to set the record straight on Rep. Stephanie Hess’ business record.

Even though the local Havre Area Chamber of Commerce won’t tell any of the businesses in town, the state Chamber of Commerce will. Stephanie Hess got a 94 percent rating with the Montana Chamber for her votes to support small business. The highest-rated democrat in the entire House of Representatives got a 63 percent. And Gov. Steve Bullock got a whopping 54 percent. This is just a fact.

Hess’ young opponent says he will be pro-business, but the fact is, Hess already is pro-business.

As any building contractor in Havre will tell you, we need workers, lower workers’ compensation rates, low unemployment insurance rates and affordable health insurance. Hess voted for three bills that helped keep our work comp rates lower. Hess voted for funding for vo-tech and trades education. Those are good, skilled jobs people like myself in the trades industry need. Hess voted for a bill to lower unemployment insurance rates.
