Obituary - Aldin J. "Al" Stanley

Aldin J. Stanley, Native American Name Nah-nah-te-w Pi-ye-siw Ah-wah-sis (Heatwave Thunderbird Child)  of Great Falls, 75, died at Benefis Hospital Nove. 11, 2016.

He was born Feb. 24, 1941, in Great Falls to Henry Mosney and Josephine Swan, but he was raised by Joseph Stanley as his birth father was in the military serving his country. 

“Al” was raised in Great Falls ,where he attended school. He later went into home and general construction. He was a member of the Chippewa Cree Tribe of Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation. 

Al met and later married Vickie Bronson in Great Falls Oct. 12, 1969. They made their home in Great Falls, where they celebrated over 47 years of marriage

He will be remembered as a great hunter, supplying many with his bounty.  He enjoyed working with ceramics, making beautiful works of art.  He will be remembered by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “The Candy Man” as he enjoyed treating them with gummie bears. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Linda Mae; his infant daughter Michelle Marie. 

He is survived by his loving wif,e Vickie Stanley of Great Falls; his children Aldin J. Stanley Jr. of Box Elder, Leonard James Stanley of Great Falls, Curtis Wayne Stanley of Havre, Loretta Fay Racine of Nebraska, Micheal Bryain Stanley of Great Falls, Arron Lee Stanley of Great Falls and Curtis Wayne Stanley Jr. Along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Traditional Native American wake and funeral services began at noon Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Rocky Boy.  Funeral services will be 10 a..m. Monday, Nov. 14 at the church. Burial will follow at the Rocky Boy Cemetery.
