Local super heroes take icy plunge for Special Olympics

More than 30 people sacrificed a few moments of warmth Saturday afternoon in the parking lot behind Wells Fargo Bank on Second Street to take part in the Polar Plunge, an annual fundraiser for the Montana Special Olympics.

People of all ages made the plunge into a vat of ice water 3½ feet deep.

Nicole Anderson, a dispatcher with the Havre Police Department, was among the first to make the jump.

"It's cold, it's so cold, oh my God," Anderson said as she emerged from the water.
