Obituary: Marilyn Joyce (Alex) Lang

Marilyn Joyce (Alex) Lang of Gildford, 81, passed away due to natural causes Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, at Northern Montana Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at Highland Cemetery with Ila McClenahan officiating.

Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.

Marilyn was born May 5, 1935, to Anthony and Verda (Noremburg) Alex in Hingham, Montana. She is the second child of eight children. She attended school in Havre.

She worked as a telephone operator at MSTT in Havre.

In August of 1952, she married Grant "Bud" Lang. Marilyn and Bud raised four children, Margaret, Gail, Cathy and John.

Marilyn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved baking, cooking and sewing. She made many afghans, baby blankets and other hand-made items for the family that they still treasure. But she is known most for her passion for crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bud of Gildford, Montana; her children, Margaret (Bill) Bjorklund of Phoenix, Arizona, Gail (Mark) Aspevig of Rudyard, Cathy (LaNay) Kapperud of Gildford and John Lang of Phoenix, Arizona; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Cheryl (Bob) Evans of Havre and Pam (Ben) Essary of Stevensville, Montana; and brothers, Allan (Gail) Alex of Havre and John (Diane) Alex of Casper, Wyoming.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Carly Matter; and three brothers, Ed, Dennis and Tom Alex.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
