Julie Kay Turbak was born Feb. 15, 1958, in Havre, Montana, to George and Renette (Bogut) Turbak, the youngest of five daughters. She was diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a toddler. Even in adversity, she had an outgoing and happy personality.

Julie graduated from Havre High School in 1976 and worked in the Activity Department of the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd for a time.

Everywhere she went, people greeted her by name, and it was like traveling with a celebrity. For exercise, caregivers took her window shopping daily when she was still an apartment dweller, and she loved to do that and include lunch out, if possible. She liked "cute guys," especially those in uniform, which initiated many good stories. Camping with her parents was another highlight.

She moved into Northern Montana Care Center in 2007, where she enjoyed the many activities, bingo being one of the favorites. She was well cared for by many loving and efficient people while living there.

Julie was preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters Janice Lynn Miller and Joan Patricia Turbak.

She is survived by her sisters Judy (Ed) Matter and Jeanne (Mike) Kase and brother-in-law John Miller as well as an aunt and uncle, nieces, nephews and cousins.
