After an 0-4 start, it was hard to know what to expect from the Havre High boys basketball team, on the road, in Malta.
But against a team that defeated the Blue Ponies twice last season, Havre found a way to play its best game to date this season and in the process, upended the Mustangs 59-56 on their home floor Tuesday night.
The Ponies, who have struggled to score so far this season, had no such problems in Malta, jumping out to an 19-8 at the end of the first quarter. HHS continued its hot start, added 15 points in the second quarter, to take a 34-23 lead over Malta at halftime.
