Obituary: Peter Woronik Jr.

Peter Woronik Jr. passed away Dec. 8 in Missoula. He was the son of Dorothy (Nelson) and Peter Woronik Sr. He attended Bellevue country school and Havre High School.

Pete farmed and ranched with his parents north of Havre. He was an outstanding heavy equipment operator, building many roads and reservoirs in the country. In later years he owned and operated Pete’s Backhoe Service. He also worked many years on the Big Sky Resort.

Pete was a very gifted mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, motorcycles and aerial hunting. He is survived by his wife, Amy (Chamberlain) Woronik of Virginia; his children, Todd (Mona) Woronik of Havre, Tamara (Mark) Lamphier of Havre, Peter Nathan (Ericka) Woronik III of Missoula and Clayton (Cierra) Woronik of Missoula; his sister, Patty Childs; grandchildren, Mike, Matt, Marc and Mitch Woronik, Brock and Carter Nystrom, and Brenna and Landen Woronik; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Dorothy Ann Chamberlin, Carolyn Murphy and granddaughter Kairi Alexia Woronik.

A celebration of life for Pete will be Jan. 21 at the Eagles Club at 2 p.m.
