Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Kinzee Peterson, Ice Hawks Hockey

Havre High's Kinzee Peterson had an outstanding season on the golf course this past fall, even recording a hole-in-one at the Class A state tournament. Now though, Peterson is stopping shots instead of sinking them. As the No. 1 goalie for the Havre Ice Hawks high school hockey team, Peterson has been outstanding thus far. In Havre's home debut last month, Peterson stopped an amazing 73 shots in two games against the Missoula Bruins, the top Class A team in the state. Peterson, who was All-Conference in golf, is in her 10th season in the Ice Hawk's program.

Garret Diekhans, Fort Benton Boys Basketball

Every year a freshman or two make a big impact on boys basketball in the District 9C. One of those freshman doing it this season is Fort Benton's Garret Diekhans. The lanky forward is off to a great start playing for the Longhorns, averaging nearly 15 points and eight rebounds per night. He has already topped the 30-point mark once this season for a Fort Benton squad that is much-improved this year and is already 2-1 in 9C play. Diekhans and the Longhorns return from Christmas break with two games this weekend.
