North Star speech and drama sets open house for Thursday

The North Star speech and drama team is hosting an open house for the public Thursday at 7 p.m. in the North Star High School Pit. The team invited the public to come support the students as they perform their events one last time before divisionals.

Divisionals will be this weekend in Big Fork. Students at the divisional tournament vie to qualify for the Class BC State Tournament, set this year for Jan. 26-27 in Havre.

The team is rounding out a successful season including the North Star speakers earning enough points to win the Class C speech team first place award at the Fergus County High School competition in Lewistown Jan. 7. competition

The open house will feature impromptu speakers Caden Richey and Daniel Nerat, Sammi Watson, Peytan King, Aubrey Welch and Topanga Watson performing spontaneous oral interpertretation of literature; humorous interpretror of literature Hayden Massar, dramatic interpretor Jewel Wicks and rounding out the events will be Janae West performing her pantomime.

The team will serve refreshments after the performances.
