Meth Symposium on Fort Belknap rescheduled for Thursday

The Fort Belknap Indian Reservation's Second Annual Meth Symposium which had been scheduled for Friday has been postponed.

In a Facebook message Thursday night, Miranda Crasco Kirk, a founder of the Aaniiih Nakoda Anti-Drug Movement said that the event has been rescheduled for next Thursday.

Crasco Kirk said in the message that the change in dates was made because tribal officials had pressing engagements that required their presence elsewhere.

She said the prescience of tribal officials who would not be able to attend Friday was so important, event organizers felt it would be better to host the symposium at a later date.

"A lot of people are (sic) on travel these past few weeks and the only date that works where the most people can commit is Thursday the 26th," Crasco Kirk said.

The symposium will be in the Cultural Center at Aaniiih Nakoda College at 8 a.m. The event is free and open to the public and lunch will be provided to those in attendance.
