Crash on Highway 87 kills 2

Two people were killed during a two-vehicle crash Tuesday on U.S. Highway 87 in Chouteau County.

The names of the victims had not been released by print deadline this morning.

The crash happened near mile marker 65, a representative with the Chouteau County Sheriff’s office said.

Montana Highway Patrol reports that one of the vehicles was traveling southbound and another northbound when they collided head on. One of the vehicles was thrust off the road during the impact.

“The drivers of both vehicles were killed on impact,” the Highway Patrol report says, adding that all the occupants were wearing their seatbelts and the road was bare and dry.

The passenger of one of the vehicles was flown to Benefis hospital in Great Falls, the report says.
