Big Sandy crash fatalities identified

The two people who were killed during a two-vehicle crash Tuesday on U.S. Highway 87 in Chouteau County have been identified by the county coroner as 43-year-old Rebecca Nicholson of Havre and 61-year-old Sharon Rowe of Helena.

The crash happened near mile marker 65, a representative with the Chouteau County Sheriff’s office said.

Montana Highway Patrol reports that one of the vehicles was traveling southbound and another northbound when they collided head on. One of the vehicles was thrust off the road during the impact.

“The drivers of both vehicles were killed on impact,” the Highway Patrol report says, adding that all the occupants were wearing their seatbelts and the road was bare and dry.

The passenger of one of the vehicles was flown to Benefis hospital in Great Falls, the report says.
