The International Quilt Festival in Chicago, set for April 6-8, and the International Quilt Show in Houston, Nov. 2-5, both have accepted a quilt made by Karen Vosen of Havre, with more than 1,300 hexagons, for display.

The quilt is of the "Millafiore" quilt design of Katja Marek, one of 24 accepted. The quilts will tour the United States for the next year-and-a-half.

Vosen's 92-inch by 92-inch red, black, gray and white quilt is hand-pieced using English Paper piecing technique and machine quilted by Shawna Crawford of Lewistown.

Vosen has won both local and regional shows since beginning quilting in the 1980s. Her donated quilts have raised funds for Havre's Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Line and for the H. Earl Clack and Museum's Downton Abbey Tea fundraiser, and the upcoming fundraiser tea, Honoring Hill County Women.

Vosen is a member of the Hi-Line Quilt Guild that displays local quilts during Festival Days.
