Fort Belknap man gets probation for conspiring to sell drugs

A Fort Belknap man received three years probation Monday in state District Court in Havre for conspiring to sell drugs with a Havre man.

Jodarryl A. Gone, born in 1992, received a three-year deferred imposition of sentence. The sentence is part of a plea deal and if Gone abides by the conditions imposed he can have the offense struck off his record.

Gone’s offense happened in 2015.

Montana Probation and Parole contacted an agent from Safe Trails Tri-Agency Task Force Feb. 10, 2015, about two workers at a Third Avenue restaurant a witness said were selling marijuana and cocaine during their breaks. Parole officers and a Task Force agent went to the home of those suspected of selling drugs, where they found Gone.

The officers were given permission to search the residence and were told they would find drug paraphernalia.

In Gone’s room, a marijuana pipe was located on the dresser drawer. A marijuana bong was found in the cabinet above the refrigerator, and a black backpack with suspected marijuana was found in the living room.

Gone told officer he loaned his car to the other person a few days before to go to Kalispell and pick up pot. The other man admitted this, charging documents say.

Officers also found 10 bags of marijuana packaged in 1/8-ounce quantities and a digital scale, both indicative of distributive intent, documents say.

The other man’s cellphone was searched and found text messages indicated that he and Gone “conspired and collaborated” to distribute drugs.
