Day of Prayer set for Thursday in Havre

People are invited to Town Square Thursday at noon for a gathering of worshipful song and prayer in observance of the National Day of Prayer.

The annual gathering is organized by the Greater Havre Area Ministerial Association.

“We welcome anybody and everybody to come pray with us,” said Brian Barrows, pastor at Abundant Life Ministries who will be the event’s master of ceremonies.

Free food will also be offered to attendees and provided by each of the churches. Barrows said.

This year, the Rev. Dan Wathen of St. Jude Thaddeus Church will give the opening prayer and Pastor Norm Johnson of the Havre Seventh Day Adventist Church will give the opening message.

A series of collective prayers will then take place for government and institutions at all levels, Barrows said.

People who will lead the crowd in prayer will include Hill County Commissioner Diane McLean, former state Rep. Bruce Meyers, R-Box Elder, and leaders from various churches in Havre,

Barrows said New Life Drama Company of Scottsdale, Arizona, will also be there to perform short dramatic skits for the audience.

The event is free and open to the public.
