2017 Big Sandy Rotary "Spring into Paradise" banquet a huge success

Big Sandy Rotary celebrates another successful banquet, with a salute to agriculture. We are so pleased with the continued support from the Big Sandy, Havre, Fort Benton and Great Falls communities.

The Rotarians would like to send a big thank-you to everybody who helped in any way with the success of the 2017 banquet. For over 33 years, your generosity has been astonishing! This has enabled us to return over $575,000 to more than 60 youth/school activities, civic groups, programs and organizations. Without each and every one of you, we would not be able to give back to the communities we serve. Thank you for all of your time, talent, donations, ticket purchases and participation in the fun activities.

Each ticket includes delicious prime rib dinner by Bomgardner Catering. The junior class is hired to provide dinner service and cleanup, then are able to repurpose the decorations for prom.

The ticket prices have remained the same — $100 per couple — for 33 years. By simply purchasing a ticket, you are eligible for numerous door prizes and also entered in the drawing to win the top 11 fabulous prizes. Listed below are this year’s lucky winners and the prizes won in 2017.

There were multiple 50/50 drawings and if you purchased the multiplier and your ticket number was called for one of the top 11 prizes, you walked away with an extra $100 to $1000.

Orry Fruit was able to outwit, outlast and outplay the Heads & Tails Game and happily won a free ticket to next year’s banquet.

The Diamond 4 U Club generously sponsored the Pick the Lucky Chip Game, and Bill Brown happened to pick the winning chip, awarding him the Green Mountain Tail Gate Package which included a Davy Crockett Tail Gate Grill, tote bag, 28 pounds of pellets and three spice rubs.

With a limited number of chances, Sarah Drga purchased “the” spool of thread and was excited to take home the beautiful Batiks Diamond Quilt made by Patty Reichelt and quilted by Brenda Yirsa.

If you feel luck is not on your side, you can always enter the “loser out” game. So, you see, there is something for everyone.

Congratulations to all the winners. Once again, a huge thank-you for supporting the Big Sandy Rotary Club. We look forward to seeing you at next year’s banquet.
