Area high schools graduate 270 students

May is graduation month, and about 270 students in 10 area high schools will take part in graduation ceremonies this spring

Havre High is scheduled to graduate 108 students May 28 at 4 p.m. in the school gymnasium.

The class motto is, "Our lives are before us, our pasts behind us, but our memories are forever with us."

The keynote speaker will be history teacher and wrestling coach Scott Filius.

Rocky Boy High School will hold the first high school graduation in the area this year. Sixteen seniors are set to walk May 18 during the ceremony which begins at 6 p.m. in the school gymnasium.

The class motto is, "Together we have experienced life. Separately, we will pursue our dreams. Forever, our memories will remain."

Linda Engbretson is the scheduled speaker.

Turner, North Star High and Hays-Lodge Pole will hold their ceremonies May 20, with the time for the first two starting at 2 p.m. and the latter at 1 p.m. Turner will graduate four, North Star 14, and Hays-Lodge Pole 15 students.

Turner's class motto is Carl Sagan's "I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way," and Shelly Harmon will be the speaker.

North Star's class motto is a quote by Jeremy Irons: "What takes us back to the past are the memories. What brings us forward is our dreams."

Hays-Lodge Pole's keynote speaker is Donny Wetzel Jr. and their motto is, "Chase your dreams, but always know the road that'll lead you home again."

May 21, three other high schools will be holding their graduation ceremonies.

Chester-Joplin-Inverness High School plans to graduate 12 students at 2 p.m. in the school auditorium. Their motto is Abraham Lincoln's "Whatever you are, be a good one" and Darin Stanley is the speaker.

Chinook High School will graduate 32 students that day at 2 p.m. in the Lloyd Bowen Gymnasium. Chinook has Patricia Gillen as the guest speaker and a Dr. Seuss quote as the class motto: "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

Forty Harlem High School students will graduate during the school's ceremony, which begins at 1 p.m. May 21 in the school gymnasium.

"Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow" is the class motto and Briayan Flores the keynote speaker.

Box Elder school is set to graduate 24 students May 27 in a ceremony that begins at 2 p.m. in the Box Elder High School gymnasium.

The speech will be given by Minnie The Boy.

Big Sandy will celebrate six seniors May 28, a class that chose a David Bowie quote: "I don't know where I'm going in life, but I promise it won't be boring."
