Local News - Nuisance weed ordinance in effect, violators to receive only one notice

City of Havre nuisance weed ordinance began May 1.

Property owners with grass or weeds taller than eight inches will receive a notice. If the weeds are not cut or removed within 10 days, the city will remove the weeds and the cost of the removal will be charged to the property owner.

Owners will receive only one violation notice per year, and the city subsequently will remove nuisance grass or weeds in violation of the ordinance without any additional notice, as per city of Havre Ordinance No. 888.
