Local Golf Report: Good luck to high school golfers

From Tee to Green...

The local golf season may just be getting started around the area, but for Class B and C high school golfers, the end is near.

This week marks the end of the spring high school golf season, as Chinook, Harlem and Rocky Boy head to state tournaments.

The Sugarbeeters should do well at this week’s Class C state tournament at Double Arrow Golf Course in Seeley. Chinook has veteran golfers on both sides, and the Beeters have a strong chance to bring home some hardware.

Meanwhile, Harlem and Rocky Boy will close out their seasons at the State B tourney today and Wednesday at Marias Valley Golf Club in Shelby.

Here’s wishing all of our local high school golfers good luck, and we’ll have complete results from the state tournaments in next week’s From Tee to Green.

Speaking of just getting started, the ladies at Prairie Farms Golf Course got their season started last Thursday night. Under warm and sunny skies, Northern Montana Hospital scored 24.5 points to take high-team honors. Terri Earl, Patti Nault, Carol Culp and Delonna Malone made up the squad. Sarah Spangler shot a 41 for low gross, while Emi Smith was low net with a 27.

It was also warm and sunny for men’s league at Prairie Farms last week and at Beaver Creek Golf Course last Thursday night. However, no league scores reported this week. Hopefully, we'll be back on track next week.
