Work about to start on Triangle fiber-optic expansion into Havre

A local telephone cooperative is about to start its project to expand service in Havre.

Triangle Communications said in a press release that work to install new fiber-optic infrastructure to expand service in an area of Havre is expected to start Monday, June 19.

The cooperative, which started in 1954 and has since expanded through north-central and central Montana, will be offering fiber-optic telephone and internet service in downtown Havre for the first time when the installation is complete.

The company will offer phone, internet at a base speed of 75 megabytes and some network maintenance services to business networks and residents in the area from Fleet Wholesale Supply on the western edge of Havre to the viaduct on Seventh Avenue and south to Eagles Manor and to the Hill County Courthouse on Fourth Street.

Triangle will be contacting businesses to schedule installation of the service.
