Obituary - Vinnie Bendix

The family of Vinnie Bendix (formerly Vinnie Beck) are sad to announce her passing Friday, June 2, 2017, in Chandler, Arizona.

Vinnie was a loving and faithful wife, a great mom, a supportive and involved grandparent, a dear friend and woman of God. She will be missed by many.

Vinnie is survived by her sister, June Donoven; her two sons, Duke and Doak; and their wives Cathy and Dianne, as well as nine grandchildren, Ron and Hilary Echols, Kore and Heather Bendix, Seth and Shauna Bendix, Cody and Nicolette Bendix and Connor Bendix; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Vinnie was born in the Havre, Montana, area in 1929 to the family of John and Opal Beck, the next-to-youngest of seven children. She married Richard Bendix in 1947 and they celebrated 64 years of marriage before Dick passed away in 2012.

In 2014, she moved into the Mountain Park Senior Living Center in Phoenix where she became a friend to many and an encouragement to everyone she met.

After moving to the Phoenix area from Redwood City, California, in 2000, she and Dick became members of Bridgeway Community Church. Vinnie will be missed as a beloved saint and sister in Christ.

Vinnie will be memorialized Friday, July 7, at Bridgeway Community Church. The service will be at 10 a.m. with a greeting time to follow.

The family is grateful for the many expressions of condolence. For those who wish to do so, an offering can be made in lieu of flowers to support ministry in Swaziland, a mission Vinnie regularly contributed to. Checks can be made payable to Swaziserve, PMB #46, 4802 E. Ray Rd. Set 23, Phoenix, AZ 85044-6417.
