Beverly was born in Chinook, Montana, Dec. 12, 1933, to the late Walter and Alvina Friede. She married Virgil Ray Cowan in 1951 in Chinook. Beverly and Virgil had two sons, Gary Wayne and Richard Dean Cowan. In 1957, the family moved to Shelby and opened Cowan's Westside Husky for about 10 years before moving back to Havre.

Beverly was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved to cook. She would always take a hot cooked meal to Virgil while he was at work on the railroad. She worked as a cook at a preschool for some time and just loved all the children, and also worked in housekeeping at the El Toro motel. Beverly was very social, spending a lot of time visiting with family and friends.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Virgil; her son Richard; and siblings Ralph, Jack, Ernie, Jim, Sandy, Lola and Jeannie May Friede.

Beverly is survived by her son Gary and his children, Tiffany, Gary Jr. and Bridgit Cowan; Richard's children, J.D. May and Stacy Cowan; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.

May God bless.
