Rodeo fun is about to invade the Hi-Line

Finally, rodeo fans, your time is near. Rodeo is coming to the Hi-Line and plenty of it.

Two weeks of rodeo action in the area begins with next week's Blaine County Fair in Chinook.

The action starts Wednesday with the annual Chinook Kids Rodeo, which starts at 5 p.m. at the Blaine County Fairgrounds. Then the fun really gets going with two nights of PRCA rodeo in Chinook. The annual Bear Paw Roundup is one of the top pro rodeos of the summer circuit in Montana, and this year's version will run July 13 and 14 with performances at 7 p.m. each night inside the arena at the Blaine County Fairgrounds.

From there, the action will shift to Havre.

During the 2017 Great Northern Fair, there will be three straight nights of rodeo action, with a new twist as well. On July 19, the rodeo action in Havre will kick off with the annual Havre Junior Rodeo. The rodeo will start at 5 p.m., and kids can still enter by calling Ruby at 395-4441 July 10-11 between noon and 8 p.m.

July 20, the Great Northern Open Rodeo will take place, starting at 7 p.m. inside the arena, and Saturday, the arena will host a bull riding event - a first for the fair in Havre. The Cody Four Colors Memorial Bull Riding contest will be held Saturday night inside the arena, and it also starts at 7 p.m.

The new bull riding event will wrap up two straight weeks of exciting rodeo action on the Hi-Line.
