Three bands hitting Havre Tuesday

October Rage, a hard rock band from Australia who performed in Havre once before in 2012 will be one of three bands playing at the Havre Eagles Club Tuesday while en route to perform at this year's Rockin' the Rivers extravaganza outside of Three Forks.

October Rage will perform alongside Zam Trip from Green River, Wyoming and Filthy Sweet from Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Nick Roberts, October Rage's singer and lead guitarist said in a phone interview that the three bands have played together several times before.

"They are both very entertaining," Roberts said. "If everybody gets there early they will be treated to a full rock show. and it will be great."

The stop in Havre will be the first of several by October Rage in Montana this week. The band's website said they will then play a show Wednesday at the Do Bar in Great Falls. After playing a show in Bismarck the next night they will return to Montana to play Rockin' the Rivers. They will then play a show at Smiling Doc Records in Billings.

Roberts said the band was established in 2008 in Newcastle, Australia. They caught a big break  when in 2010 they won a contest to open for Bon Jovi during three nights in Sydney, Australia.

The opportunity allowed the band to connect with Bon Jovi's crew, who, in turn, referred them to an agent who helped book them on their first U.S. tour.

Since then, they have played alongside such well-known hard rock acts as Buck Cherry, Sevendust and Saliva.

Roberts said October Rage now spends about 10 months of the year touring throughout the U.S, playing venues that range from small bars and theaters to stadiums.

"So you could say we are based here (in the U.S.) but we still technically live in Australia," Roberts said.

October Rage has released three albums since 2012. Roberts said they are now working on their fourth, "Victory or Valkyrie," which they are set to finish in late August or early September.

Tuesday's show will start at 7 p.m. Tickets will be $20 at the door and $15 in advance. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Bergren Transmission, Bear Paw Meats and the Eagle's Club.
